UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley and Marlon Vera exchanged messages on social media ahead of their rematch at UFC 299 on March 10.
"I will make Sean quit," Vera wrote.
"You won't do sh--, I'm gonna punch your head off. I'll stop 'Chito' in the 3rd or 4th [round]. It'll probably be a left hand," O'Malley responded.
The first fight between O'Malley and Vera took place in August 2020 at UFC 252. That bout, which was stopped in the first round, ended in Marlon's favor by technical knockout.
O'Malley's last fight was against Aljamain Sterling this past August at UFC 292. In this confrontation, Sean won by technical knockout in the second round. He has 17 wins and one loss on his record.
Vera last entered the octagon against Pedro Munhoz at the same tournament UFC 292. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended with Marlon winning by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 23 wins, eight losses and one draw.
