In an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, Alexandr Romanov, the 13th-ranked heavyweight in the UFC, stated that he would not adopt the striking technique of Shara “Bullet” Magomedov.

This is foreign to me. I am a heavyweight and my base is wrestling. My approach in the stand-up is entirely different. It may look beautiful from the outside, but it's an enormous effort. One needs to have incredible speed and a sense of timing. His base is boxing, and that’s his trump card; but for me, with a wrestling base, it feels foreign. It's an alien world that I try not to delve into too deeply. If you want to swim, swim; if you want to box, box, and it's the same here. If your base is wrestling, focus on that and don’t forget about your wrestling. Of course, if you can tire out your opponent and feel total domination, you can pull off something like that. But I wouldn’t take risks and chase a spectacular finish.

Recall that on October 26, Shara “Bullet” Magomedov defeated Armen Petrosyan by knockout in the second round. The Russian fighter won with a double spinning backfist, marking his 19th career victory and getting to 14th place in the UFC middleweight rankings.
