Brazilian UFC welterweight Carlos Prates has admitted that he still struggles with nicotine addiction.
Prates shared in an interview with Ariel Helwani:
I started when I was 12, 13 years old. I didn’t do nothing at school. I enjoyed going to school, but didn’t like to study…I didn’t imagine I would be a professional fighter when I was at school…I smoke maybe 8 per day, up to 10…I tried to stop one time, one week without smoking, and I gained 5 KG in a few days.
Prates last fought against Neil Magny in November of this year at UFC Vegas 100. Carlos won that fight by knockout in the first round. His professional mixed martial arts record stands at 21 wins and six losses.
