UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira explained why he agreed to a rematch with Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 303 on 30 June in Las Vegas, USA.
Pereira was offered the fight after a headline bout between former UFC double champion Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler was scrapped
Pereira told YouTube channel TheMacLife:
I like taking these opportunities. I’m going to be 37. I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be fighting. It’s a good opportunity for me to keep myself active, to keep myself training.
Pereira and Prochazka's first fight took place in November 2023 at UFC 295. Alex won that fight in the second round by technical knockout. He has 10 wins and two losses to his credit in mixed martial arts. Jiri has 30 wins, four losses and one draw on his record.
