UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has shared his views on the upcoming rematch between Alexander Volkov and Ciryl Gane, set to take place on December 8 at UFC 310 in Las Vegas.

The first fight between Volkov and Gane occurred in June 2021 at UFC Fight Night 190. That bout went the distance, resulting in a unanimous decision win for Gane.

It’s a good fight. They fought each other before and people don’t seem to be able to remember the first fight because it was a bit of a stinker. Nothing really happened and Ciryl Gane just edged it. I’d say it’s a 50/50 fight. I don’t know. I think Volkov has been in good form lately. Ciryl Gane hasn’t fought for 18 months, so it’s difficult to say where he’s at.

Volkov last stepped into the octagon against Sergei Pavlovich in June of this year at UFC on ABC 6, where he won by unanimous decision. His professional record now stands at 38 wins and 10 losses.

Gane last fought Serghei Spivac in September 2023 at UFC Fight Night 226, winning by technical knockout in the second round, bringing his record to 12 wins and two losses.
