Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland will face Paulo Costa in the octagon on June 2 in the co-main event of UFC 302 in Newark (USA). This was announced by UFC head Dana White at the press conference after UFC 300.
Recall that the upcoming tournament will be headlined by the fight of UFC light heavyweight champion Islam Makhachev against Dustin Poirier.
Strickland last fought against Dricus du Plessis in January 2023 at UFC 297. In that fight, Sean was defeated by split decision. He has 28 wins and six losses on his record.
Costa last entered the octagon against Robert Whittaker in February 2024 at UFC 298. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended with Paulo losing by unanimous decision. He has 14 wins and three losses on his record.
