Newly crowned UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones admitted that he expected his bout with Ciryl Gane to take longer.
Jones had his fight against Gane on March 5 at UFC 285. In that confrontation, Jones won by first-round choke and got the heavyweight championship belt.
Was I mad that the fight wasn’t longer? Somewhere inside there was this unsatisfying feeling. At the same time I'm glad I got out of there without injuries. It was what it was, I'm super grateful.

Jones previously competed in the light heavyweight division. Jons' last opponent at that weight was Dominick Reyes. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in Jones' favor by a unanimous decision of the judges. He's got 27 wins and one loss under his belt. Gane has 11 wins and two losses.
