Former UFC interim light heavyweight title challenger Ovince Saint Preux has failed a doping test and has been suspended from fighting for six months. A long-acting metabolite of androstenedione or testosterone was found in the fighter's urine samples taken out of competition.

While investigating the circumstances surrounding the positive test, Saint Preux provided USADA officials with his nutritional supplements. Although the supplement label did not list any banned substances, analysis showed that the product contained androstenedione matching the metabolite in Ovince's system. USADA managed to independently obtain a sealed container of the product from the same batch and confirmed that it was also contaminated. That product was added to the high-risk list.

Although Saint Preux did not use a certified supplement, he received a reduction in his disqualification because he was able to prove that his positive test was caused by the contaminated product and the very low level of banned substances found in the products would not have affected his results.

According to USADA, Saint Preux's six-month period of suspension began on June 17. He will be able to return to competition starting December 17.

In his last fight, which took place at UFC Fight Night 219 in February 2023, Saint Preux lost to Philipe Lins by first-round knockout. Ovince, 40, has 26 wins and 17 losses on his record.
