UFC No. 2 ranked bantamweight American Sean O'Malley reacted to comparisons to British UFC lightweight fighter Paddy Pimblett in terms of using negative campaigning to gain popularity among MMA fans.
For me to go out there and get the job done [against Petr Yan], that was massive. I got famous because I started knocking people out, I got famous because I have skills so there's a difference there. Yeah I smoke w**d, yeah I party with the boys sometimes but that's a very small percentage of what I do.

Earlier, UFC president Dana White announced that Sean O'Malley may fight bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292, to be held August 19 in Boston (USA).
O'Malley's last fight was against Petr Yan at UFC 280 in October 2022. In this fight Sean won by split decision. He has 16 wins and one loss under his belt.
Sterling last entered the Octagon against Henry Cejudo on May 7 at UFC 288. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Aljamain by split decision. He has 23 wins and three losses under his belt.
