Top UFC lightweight Beneil Dariush said he may have his next fight against former divisional champion Charles Oliveira at a UFC tournament in May.
They first offered me to fight Oliveira at UFC 283 in Brazil, but there was little time to prepare and they decided to move it to February. Then they said it would be in March, then April, and now we're discussing May.

Dariush, 33, last competed in October 2022 at UFC 280, where he defeated Mateusz Gamrot by unanimous decision. In May 2021, he faced Tony Ferguson at UFC 262. The fight, which went the full three rounds, ended with Beneil winning by unanimous decision. Dariush has a record of 22 wins and four losses.
Oliveira, 33, lost to Islam Makhachev via second-round choke at UFC 280 in October 2022. At UFC 274 in May of that year, he defeated Justin Gaethje by first-round submission (rear-naked choke). Oliveira has a record of 33 wins and nine losses.
