American UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley, who recently suffered a defeat to Merab Dvalishvili in a title fight, shared his upcoming plans.
O’Malley said on his podcast:
It’s going to feel good to take a legit break to get fully healthy. It’s going to be nice to take a legit, full-on break without something next. Right after the Aljo fight, I knew I had the Chito fight. Right after the Chito fight, I had the Merab fight. Now after this fight, I don’t have anything. Nothing’s scheduled, no one’s next… I’m going to actually heal up from injuries and then take my time, and come back.
O’Malley and Dvalishvili faced off on September 15 in the main event of UFC 306 in Las Vegas, USA. In this bout, which went the full distance, Sean lost by unanimous decision and relinquished his UFC bantamweight championship. His professional record now stands at 18 wins and two losses, with one fight declared a no contest.
