American welterweight fighter Nate Diaz received the keys to Stockton city from Mayor Kevin Lincoln. The ceremony took place after the Stockton Kings basketball team game.
The keys were presented to the American athlete in appreciation for making his hometown famous around the world.
Diaz had his last fight against his compatriot Tony Ferguson this September at UFC 279. Nate won that fight by fourth-round choke. After that fight, he announced his retirement from the UFC.
Diaz came to the Octagon in June, 2021, against Britain's Leon Edwards at UFC 263. That fight ended with Nate's defeat by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 21 wins and 13 losses under his belt.
