Russian UFC lightweight fighter Magomed Mustafayev can skip UFC 280, which will be held on October 22 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
According to our information, Yamato Nishikawa won't be able to take part in the fight. At the moment, UFC matchmakers are looking for his replacement. But since time is short, we probably won't see Mustafayev's performance.
Let's recall that Alexander Sarnavskiy was called up to fight with Mustafayev, but the league management didn't take his candidacy into consideration.
Mustafayev had his last fight against New Zealander Brad Riddell in February 2020, within the UFC Fight Night 168 tournament. In this confrontation, Magomed lost to his opponent by split decision.
Mustafayev made his UFC debut against Piotr Hallmann in June 2015. That fight ended in favor of Magomed by TKO in the second round. He has 14 wins and four losses under his belt.
