Mixed martial arts fighter Nate Diaz, formerly of the UFC, has been released on bail. On April 27, the athlete surrendered to the New Orleans Police Department after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The warrant for Diaz's arrest was issued on suspicion of second-degree battery. This is considered a grave felony in Louisiana and carries a potential sentence of up to eight years in prison or a fine of up to $2,000.

After the paperwork was processed, Diaz was allowed to post bail for his release from custody without any travel restrictions.

Diaz is scheduled to fight against famous video blogger Jake Paul. The boxing fight will take place on August 5 in Dallas, USA.

Diaz last fought Tony Ferguson in September 2022 at UFC 279. In that fight, Nate won by choke in the fourth round. He announced his retirement from the UFC after that fight. He has 24 wins and 13 losses under his belt.
