Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic announced that his next opponent will be the winner of the title fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane, which will be held on the night of March 5 at UFC 285.
According to Miocic, his fight against the winner of the Jones vs. Gane fight could take place at UFC 290 on July 8. He said this in an interview with Daniel Cormier.
Miocic had his last fight against Francis Ngannou of Cameroon at UFC 260 in March 2021. In that match, Stipe was defeated by a second-round knockout.
Miocic fought in August 2020 against Daniel Cormier of the United States at UFC 252. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in Stipe's favor by a unanimous decision of the judges.
