Former UFC double champion Irish fighter Conor McGregor has appeared in a Dublin court facing allegations of rape.
The alleged victim filed a lawsuit against McGregor in 2021, seeking damages for the incident.
According to court reports from political correspondent Matthew Thompson, the woman stated that she met McGregor at a club and later he offered to drive her and her friends around. McGregor allegedly procured drugs, and they proceeded to the Beacon penthouse, where the rape is said to have happened.
She claimed that she was attempting to resist but was completely unable to do so, resulting in injuries and bruises. McGregor reportedly placed her in a chokehold three times, at which point she ceased to resist.
McGregor's last appearance in the octagon was against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264, where he suffered a technical knockout due to a broken leg. He has 22 wins and six losses over his mixed martial arts career.
