UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will meet Dustin Poirier in the octagon on June 2 at UFC 302 in Newark (USA). UFC head Dana White announced this at a press conference after UFC 300.
Poirier last fought against Benoit Saint-Denis in March of this year at UFC 299. In that fight, Dustin won by knockout in the second round. He has 30 wins and eight losses on his record.
Makhachev last entered the octagon against Alexander Volkanovski in October 2023 at UFC 294. That fight, which was stopped in the first round, ended in Islam's favor by knockout. He has 24 wins and one loss on his record.
