Former Bellator champion Andrey Koreshkov assessed Magomed Ankalaev's victory over Alex Pereira for the UFC light heavyweight title in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net.
"For Magomed Ankalaev, this is definitely the biggest achievement of his career. He claimed the UFC championship belt, and I congratulate him on that. It wasn’t his first attempt, but he won, and there are no questions about it," Koreshkov stated.
The first and third rounds were controversial and could have gone to Alex Pereira. Especially the first round. As for the rest, Ankalaev did everything he could to win. It’s a shame he didn’t get to knock him out in the second round. I don't know how good this is for the UFC. He’s not a scandalous person, he hasn’t had any conflicts. He’s a well-mannered guy with experience and persistence.
