UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has spoken out on social media about his possible fight against Briton Tom Aspinall.

Would you agree that it's just as selfish to have a completely healthy intern champion who is only 30 years old, sitting out and waiting to fight the winner of a 42 and 36 year old. Who literally actually already committed to fighting each other? No one stopping anyone, I'm on a mission. I'm in the middle of a pretty clear decision. Stick to exact and original plans and fight the man with all the accolades. Or, completely disregard all of the Stipe training I've put in and fight another potential hype train that may not even be around in three years.

Recall, the fight between Jones and Miocic was to take place at the UFC 295 tournament, which took place on November 12, 2023 in New York (USA). However, shortly before the tournament, John was injured and withdrew from the fight.

The 36-year-old Jones faced Frenchman Ciryl Gane in his last fight, which took place in March 2023 at UFC 285. In that confrontation, Jon won by submission (guillotine choke) in the first round. He has 27 wins and one loss on his record.

Aspinall, 31, last stepped into the octagon in November 2023 at UFC 295, defeating Sergei Pavlovich by first-round knockout. He has 14 wins and three losses on his record.

Miocic, 41, last fought in March 2021 at UFC 260, losing to Francis Ngannou by knockout in the second round. He has 20 wins and four losses on his record.
