WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney has commented on the upcoming boxing match between Anthony Joshua and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, set to take place on March 8 in Saudi Arabia.
Haney said on The MMA Hour show:
The heavyweight division is just different. [Ngannou] is a freak. [He dropped Fury with] one punch. I think he has that neutralizer, I think he’s very strong, he’s literally a freak. You can’t count him out. But I do think A.J. is going to win, yes, but [Ngannou] is just not somebody you can count out.

Joshua's last fight was against Otto Wallin in December 2023 in Saudi Arabia. In that match, Anthony won by technical knockout in the fifth round. He has 27 wins (24 by knockout) and three losses to his name.
Ngannou made his professional debut in October 2023. He faced world heavyweight WBC champion Tyson Fury. The fight went the distance and ended with Francis losing by a split decision.
