Former interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje believes Frenchman Benoit Saint-Denis will defeat American Dustin Poirier on March 10 at UFC 299 in Miami, USA.
Gaethje said on Kevin Iole's Youtube channel:
Benoit didn’t come out of nowhere, but he’s just starting to fight these big fights. I love that he was calling me out, and I think Dustin Poirier is the perfect fight. That’s who he should have been calling out, and that’s the fight he should be taking.
35-year-old Poirier last stepped into the octagon in July 2023 at UFC 291, losing to Justin Gaige by knockout in the second round. He has 29 wins and eight losses on his record.
Saint-Denis, 28, last fought against Matt Frevola in November 2023 at UFC 295. In that confrontation, Benoit won by first-round knockout. He has 13 wins and one loss on his record.
