Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill was arrested Monday on charges of aggravated domestic violence.
According to TMZ, the victim, who suffered serious injuries, is the fighter's brother James Anthony Hill Jr. The Kent County Sheriff's Office confirmed Jamahal Hill's arrest, but could not provide further details.
According to a police report, Hill was released the same day after prosecutors formally charged him with aggravated domestic violence. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 22, 2024.
Hill, 32, last stepped into the octagon in January 2023 at UFC 283, defeating Glover Teixeira via unanimous decision. In July 2023, Hill suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and relinquished the UFC light heavyweight championship belt. He has 12 wins and one loss on his record.
