Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou from Cameroon has officially withdrawn from his fight against Russian fighter Vadim Nemkov. This news was confirmed by representatives of Nemkov's team.
A source told TASS news agency:
Ngannou didn’t know that Vadim would be the substitute. As soon as he found out, he declined the fight, stating that he was not prepared to face Vadim.
Ngannou is set to return to the cage to face Renan Ferreira on October 19 at the PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants event.
The last fight Ngannou had was against Anthony Joshua in a boxing match this past March, where he was knocked out in the second round. His record in mixed martial arts stands at 17 victories and three losses.
