UFC bantamweight title contender Merab Dvalishvili shared details about the incident at a grappling tournament where he grabbed a fan by the hair.
It happened during the Craig Jones Invitational (CJI) in August. Eyewitnesses reported that an unknown man shouted from the stands that Sean O'Malley was Dvalishvili's "daddy."
Dvalishvili told Bloody Elbow:
I gave him three warnings to come down and talk to me, it’s not like the internet you are talking to me man to man. He was just joking with his one friend I guess, he was disrespecting me… I had to go (up to him). I said ‘Tell me now’ and he was saying ‘No, no’.
Dvalishvili last entered the octagon against Henry Cejudo in February this year at UFC 298. That fight went the distance and ended with Dvalishvili winning by unanimous decision. He currently holds a record of 16 wins and four losses.
