South African UFC middleweight title challenger Dricus du Plessis has spoken out regarding his fight with Sean Strickland during the UFC 296 event in Las Vegas, USA.
I mean, I'm 5-0 in the T Mobile Arena, and tonight it officially became 6-0. You know, getting my money's worth. But, you know, here we are, things happen. And yeah, nobody got hurt, all is good. And I don't care what provokes him. I don't really care how he feels. He says whatever he wants, and I can say wherever I want. And now there's one thing that that's a soft spot, a trigger for him. And now we're not allowed to say anything? Man, if you want to dish it out, you have to be able to take it.

As a reminder, Du Plessis and Strickland will fight on January 21 at UFC 297 in Toronto, Canada.
Du Plessis last fought against Robert Whittaker in July 2023 at UFC 290. In this confrontation, Dricus won by technical knockout in the second round. He has 20 wins and two losses on his record.
Strickland last stepped into the octagon against Israel Adesanya in September 2023 at UFC 293. That fight went the full distance and ended in favor of Sean by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 28 wins and five losses on his record.
