Diego Lopes, the third-ranked fighter in the UFC featherweight division from Brazil, has accepted former champion Alexander Volkanovski's offer to compete for an interim title.
Earlier, Volkanovski announced his intention to fight at the UFC 312 event in February against the winner of the title bout between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway. However, if the champion is unable to compete, he is prepared to face Lopes for the interim title.
