UFC head Dana White has announced that Sean Strickland will fight the winner of the middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 on August 18 in Perth, Australia.
White said at the press conference:
Sean Strickland right now is the No.1 ranked middleweight in the world and the answer is yes [he is the next opponent for the champion in that weight class].
Strickland last stepped into the octagon against Brazilian Paulo Costa this past June at UFC 302. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Sean by split decision. He has 14 wins and four losses on his record.
