UFC president Dana White commented on Merab Dvalishvili's words that he wouldn't fight the current league's bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling for the title.
Merab doesn't want to fight Sterling? That's funny. You can be friends, but don't you want what belongs to your friend? It's very stupid of him not to want to fight Aljamain Sterling. I do not recommend Merab to go that way. This story is not going to have a good ending.

Dvalishvili fought on March 12 at the UFC Fight Night 221 tournament against Russian Petr Yan. In this confrontation, Merab won by unanimous decision of the judges.
Dvalishvili made his UFC debut against American Frankie Saenz in December 2017. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in Merab's defeat by split decision. He has 16 wins and four losses under his belt. Sterling has 22 wins and three losses.
