Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net assessed the chances of Ikram Alimkerov to become a new star of the UFC middleweight division.
Ikram has only had two fights in the UFC and will now face Whittaker. If he wins this fight, he'll immediately join the ranks of title contenders. I think the guy has incredible skills, he's a fantastic wrestler. This is a huge opportunity for Ikram. Remember how quickly and confidently Khamzat beat everybody. We were all sure that he would quickly become the new champion in his weight. If Aliskerov wins this weekend, we'll probably start looking at him the way we looked at Chimaev.

Ikram Aliskerov will fight Robert Whittaker on June 22 at UFC on ABC 6. Aliskerov has 15 wins and one loss. Whittaker has 25 wins and seven losses in his career.
