Former UFC champion in two divisions, Daniel Cormier, has stated that Brazilian Alex Pereira and American Jon Jones are the most profitable champions in the organization.
Cormier said on his YouTube channel:
Is there a void of that big star? Because right now it feels like only Jon Jones and Pereira. Pereira and Jon Jones might be the only two champions right now that are completely moving the needle. Jon Jones right now is a proven draw. He will sell pay-per-views. Alex Pereira, under right circumstances, will sell pay-per-views. The problem is the game has gotten so hard now.
Pereira last fought against Jiri Prochazka in June this year at UFC 303. In that match, which was stopped in the second round, Alex won by technical knockout, successfully defending his light heavyweight title. He currently has 11 wins and two losses.
Jones last fought against Ciryl Gane in March 2023 at UFC 285. In that bout, which was stopped in the first round, Jon won by submission, claiming the UFC heavyweight title. His record now stands at 27 wins and one loss, with another fight declared no contest.
