Swedish UFC fighter of Chechen origin Khamzat Chimaev hasn't received an offer to fight the league's middleweight champion Alex Pereira. Although the Brazilian previously said that Khamzat refused to fight him.
First of all, no one offered Khamzat this fight. Secondly, why do we need a fight in another weight class, and even without the title?

Chimaev defeated Kevin Holland by choking in the first round at UFC 279 this September. Khamzat fought at UFC 273 in April of this year against Gilbert Burns. The Swedish fighter won that fight by unanimous decision of the judges. On his record he had 12 wins without a single defeat.
Pereira won the UFC middleweight title on November 13. Alex won the belt by TKO in the fifth round over Israel Adesanya. He has seven wins and one loss under his belt.
