Chechen UFC middleweight fighter Khamzat Chimaev has commented on his upcoming fight with Kamaru Usman, the winner of which should face middleweight division champion Sean Strickland.

Actually, I don’t think about this (title) fight right now. I just focus on Usman. They promised me, like I said before, ‘Gilbert Burns, if you win against this guy, you’re gonna fight for the title.’ Since then, I wait two years. I fight again as well but didn’t get that title. So I don’t know what’s going on… I’m going after all heads in the UFC… If I finish everyone, stop everyone, they have to give me all belts.

The fight between Chimaev and Usman will take place on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.

In his last fight, which took place at UFC 279 in September 2022, Chimaev defeated Kevin Holland by submission (D'arce choke) in the first round. Khamzat, 29, has 12 wins and no losses on his record.

Usman, 36, last fought against Leon Edwards in March 2023 at UFC 286. In that confrontation, Kamaru lost by a majority of the judges' votes. He has 20 wins and three losses on his record.
