Former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo criticized Daniel Cormier for comparing his Olympic gold medal in wrestling to the belt of interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.

Recall, on November 12 at UFC 295, Aspinall knocked out Sergei Pavlovich in the first round, after which he handed the championship belt to his father with tears in his eyes. Commenting on the Brit's victory, Cejudo advised him to save his tears for when he wins a real championship title. Cormier responded by saying that it doesn't matter to Aspinall whether the title is temporary or not, the belt is as real to him as the Olympic gold around Cejudo's neck in Beijing.
Aspinall, 30, had his previous fight in July 2023 at UFC Fight Night 224, defeating Marcin Tybura by first-round technical knockout. He has 14 wins and three losses on his record.
