Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson announced the end of his career after his loss to Usman Nurmagomedov in the quarterfinals of the Bellator Grand Prix.
On the night of March 11 at Bellator 292, Henderson lost to Nurmagomedov via submission (rear-naked choke) in the first round.
Henderson, who had two more fights remaining under his contract with Bellator, revealed that he had decided to terminate his contract with the promotion if he lost before signing the Grand Prix.
Henderson had his previous fight in September, 2022, at Bellator 285, defeating Peter Queally by unanimous decision. The 39-year-old Benson has 30 wins and 12 losses under his belt.
