Rizvan Magomedov, the manager of Russian UFC fighter Magomed Ankalaev, spoke about the ongoing negotiations for a fight against the promotion's light heavyweight champion, Brazilian Alex Pereira.
SE quotes Magomedov as saying:
We are not discussing a contract yet; we are currently trying to settle on a date for when this fight will take place. One thing is certain: the UFC has said that Magomed is next, and we are just waiting for the champion to get ready.
Ankalaev last fought against Aleksandar Rakic in October this year at UFC 308. That bout went the full distance, with Magomed winning by unanimous decision. His record includes 19 wins, one loss, and one draw, while another fight was declared no contest.
Pereira last entered the octagon against Khalil Rountree in October this year at UFC 307. That fight ended in the fourth round with Alex winning by technical knockout. He has a record of 12 wins and two losses.
