UFC fighter Magomed Ankalaev has reacted to the interest shown by light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in facing middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis.
Ankalaev posted on social media:
You are so weak @AlexPereiraUFC you only pick on the guys who are in lower division than you and you think you can beat them people are not stupid there is a reason why you are fighting Khalil and not me.
Du Plessis last stepped into the octagon against Israel Adesanya in August of this year at UFC 305. He won that fight by submission in the fourth round, successfully defending his middleweight championship. Du Plessis holds a record of 22 wins and 2 losses.
Pereira's most recent bout was against Jiri Prochazka in June of this year at UFC 303. In that fight, which ended in the second round, Alex secured a victory by technical knockout, defending his light heavyweight championship. His current record stands at 11 wins and 2 losses.
