Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has shared his thoughts on the upcoming light heavyweight clash between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree at UFC 307.
Adesanya stated, as reported by MMAJunkie:
I’m going to go Pereira, and I’m going to go TKO or KO. I don’t know what round, but I just feel like it’ll be hard for Rountree to get past that frame. [I can see] leg kicks, leg kicks [from Pereira], and he might catch Rountree as he comes in. Because Rountree is going to be attacking him. Paper can’t fight paper, so that’s why you’ve got to fight. But it’s a good fight and I think, again, Pereira by Round 2 or Round 3. But if Rountree does it, f***ing ridiculous.
Rountree last fought in December 2023 at UFC Fight Night 233, where he defeated Anthony Smith by technical knockout in the third round. His professional record stands at 13 wins and five losses, including one no contest.
Pereira's most recent fight was in June 2024 at UFC 303, where he defeated Jiri Prochazka by technical knockout in the second round. He boasts a record of 11 wins and two losses.
