Russian mixed martial arts fighter Shamil Abdurakhimov admitted in an interview with Telecom Asia Sport that the result of the fight with Brazilian Jailton Almeida will have a big impact on his future career.
The satisfaction of the fights is there, too. But there are times when you have a fight and it doesn't matter if you win or lose. You think, 'I'm not going to do it anymore.' Then you watch the fights and get bored. Then you get gloomy and come back. The pay is good. Why turn down an opportunity like that. You've got the contract, you've got two fights left, you've got to finish it. If you win the fight, you move on, if you lose - you no longer belong here. In that respect, the upcoming fight will matter to me.

It should be noted that Abdurakhimov was defeated in his last three fights. Almeida is on a 12-fight winning streak.
