South African batter Lizelle Lee has joined Mithali Raj at the number one position in ODI rankings for batters after a superb run of form. Lizelle has compiled scores of 78*, 19, and 91* at an average of 188 in the first three games of the five-match ODI series versus West Indies, shooting herself up in the rankings. For her career, Lee has made 3173 runs at an average of 38.22, grabbing hold of three centuries and 22 half-centuries.
South Africa’s thrifty seamer Ayabonga Khaka also jumped up a spot and is now seated at the seventh position in the ODI bowler’s rankings. Captain Dane van Niekerk also saw an improvement of one spot and has seized the seventh rank in the ODI All-Rounders list after bowling at an economy of 1.85 versus West Indies in the three games so far. These are promising signs for South Africa ahead of the ODI World Cup next year in New Zealand.
