Pace battery Lasith Malinga has decided to call time and has now retired from the T20s. Known for his yorkers and both new-ball and death over bowling, the pacer has retired at the age of 38. Arguably the best fast bowler in the shorter format of cricket in the 2010s, Malinga finished his career with 338 wickets in 226 ODIs, 107 in 83 T20Is, while also notching 101 wickets in 59 test innings.
Malinga remained a perennial threat in Franchise cricket and claimed 390 wickets in 295 T20 innings while bagging a career-best of six wickets for seven runs. Also known for his unique style of bowling, the pacer bowled from a round-arm action earning the nickname “Slinga Malinga” and terrorized even the best of batters with his inswinging yorkers and precise bowling.
