In the first round of the Kremlin Cup, Estonian Anett Kontaveit took down Czechia’s Katrina Sinakova 6-3, 6-3 to reach the Round of 16. Kontaveit dominated Siniakova in service points, taking a 40-29 points advantage in that sphere. Meanwhile, the receiving points battle remained tied at 27 points. Anett won 5/10 breakpoints while Sinakova could only win 2/12 breakpoints.
In the other game, Czechia’s Tereza Martincova took down Romania’s Irina Bara 6-0, 7-5. Tereza showed a stronger service match and extracted a 38-22 points advantage in that sphere. Meanwhile, Irina did better with receiving points, where Martincova had a 27-22 points advantage. Tereza will now face second-seeded Garbine Muguruza in the next round.
