Jon Gruden has reportedly resigned from Raiders after a number of emails containing anti-gay slurs, misogynistic language, and racist phrases surfaced during NFL’s investigation. Gruden sent these emails to bigwigs of several clubs, including Bruce Allen, who served as the president of Washington.
Gruden called the step to include openly gay Michael Sam by the Rams as the way of injecting queers in the game. He also used abusive language towards many people and especially took shots at Roger Goodall, the current commissioner of the NFL. The initial investigations first unearthed an email where Gruden called DeMaurice Smith’s lips the “size of Michelin tires”, suggesting racist undertones.
