In a low-scoring game, Namibia beat Scotland by four wickets and five balls to spare. Batting first Scotland made a paltry 109 runs and Namibia gunned it down with five balls to go. Scotland has now lost both its Super 12s fixture and lodged totals of 60 and 109 as a team in the last two affairs.

Truppelman engulfs top-order in a jiffy, Leask fights

Ruben Truppelman triggered a horrid start for the Scottish unit and the team lost three wickets for 2 runs in 4 balls with Munsey, Macleod, and Berrington back in the dugout. Things got even worse when Craig Wallace fell to David Wiese when the score read just 18. Then Matthew Cross and Michael Leask put on a 39 runs partnership with Cross playing steadily while Michael going for big hits. Cross fell on 57 when JJ Frylinck had him bowled.

Then Chris Greaves and Leask formed a 36 runs partnership but Leask got out going for big hits when Smit had him bowled. The team made a mere 109 runs and Greaves got out after making a serviceable 25 runs off 32 balls. For Namibia, Truppelman finished with three wickets for 17 runs in four. David Wiese only gave 22 runs in 4 overs for a wicket. Jan Frylinck turned up with two wickets for 10 runs in four overs. JJ Smit also bowled well, scooping up a wicket after conceding just 20 runs in four overs.

Namibia loses way in the middle but Smit rescues

Michael van Lingen and Craig Williams made 28 runs for the first wicket but Sharif had Michael caught when he had made 18 runs. Zane Green fell after making just 9 and Greaves had his wicket. Erasmus didn’t last long and once again Leask stepped forward for his team, claiming the wicket. Craig Williams got himself stumped off a Michael Watt down-the-leg side delivery and all of a sudden, Namibia saw themselves losing four wickets for 67 runs.

However, JJ Smit and David Wiese didn’t panic and stopped an implosion by putting up 35 runs and David fell to the ever-present Leask. Smit finished the business hitting a six and the Namibians took two points. Brad Wheal returned the most economical figures for Scotland, giving just 14 runs in four overs for a wicket. Leask took two wickets for 12 runs in two overs. Michael Watt continued to be effective, giving just 22 runs for one wicket in four while Greaves also delivered a similar performance for Watt in terms of both runs and wickets.
