England completed the second commanding victory in a row after dominating Bangladesh, winning by 8 wickets and 35 balls to spare. Bangladesh only made 124 runs and England gunned it down by the first ball of the fifteenth over.

Bangladesh implodes

The move to open with Moeen Ali paid the dividends straight away and the Bangladeshis suffered a massive top-order collapse. Ali got hit for 10 runs in the first over but captain Morgan persisted with him and the spinner grabbed openers, Naim and Das, on back-to-back deliveries. Shakib got snaffled by Woakes and Bangladesh saw three wickets down for a mere 26 runs.

Things didn’t improve from there and although skipper Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim put on a 37 runs partnership, Livingstone broke the momentum by getting hold of Rahim who made the most runs for Bangladesh, scoring 29 runs. Except for Nasum Ahmed, the rest of the batters struggled for runs, and thanks to a nine-ball 19 run innings by him, Bangladesh crossed 120.

Woakes looked most impressive of all bowlers, claiming one wicket in four overs for just 12 runs. Meanwhile, Tymal Mills took three wickets for 27 runs. Ali took two wickets for 18 runs in three overs. Liam Livingstone claimed two wickets for 15 runs in three overs in a stellar bowling effort by the team.

England blows away Bangladesh bowling

Jason Roy blew the Bangladesh bowling away. The duo of Roy and Jos Buttler added 39 runs for the first wicket but Nasum Ahmed had him caught. This didn’t make any difference and Dawid Malan just had to play the anchor role. Jason smoked five fours and three sixes and made 61 runs in 38 balls. Shoriful Islam had his wicket when England needed a meager 13 runs in 7 overs. Malan and Jonny Bairstow got home comfortably and the English batting looks dangerous along with their bowling.
