Some countries are not happy with the possible participation of the Russian ice hockey team in the World Cup. This statement was made by Deputy Commissioner of the National Hockey League (NHL) Bill Daly.
According to him, the events in Ukraine "make it difficult to solve the Russian problem. Daly added that some countries are willing to stand against Russian participation.
"We considered the neutral status of the Russian national team as an alternative. However, given the concerns of other countries, it's unlikely to be a good solution," Daly was quoted by ESPN as saying.
Earlier, the NHL announced the revival of the World Cup. The first event of the tournament is scheduled to take place in 2024.
