Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals was gifted a cow by the Orenburg dairy plant "Beloye Ozero" in honor of his goal-scoring record in the NHL. This was reported by Channel One.

On Tuesday, April 8, the 39-year-old athlete participated in a popular online program, celebrating his achievement in scoring the most goals in NHL history. The director of the dairy plant announced during the broadcast that he is gifting Ovechkin a cow named "Shayba," which translates to "puck," designated with the number 8895. He also mentioned that the plant created a cheese shaped like a puck with a black exterior and walnuts inside to celebrate the record.

On April 6, Alexander Ovechkin scored his 895th goal in NHL regular season play during a game against the New York Islanders. This milestone allowed him to surpass the legendary Canadian Wayne Gretzky, who previously held the record with 894 goals.

In the current season, Ovechkin has earned 69 points (42 goals and 27 assists) in 61 regular season games.
