Young Africans SC head coach Miguel Gamondi has admitted that the Tanzanian Premier League champions are hurting from the tough run of fixtures at their hands as they prepare to play league leaders Singida Black Stars, which will be their seventh match in 21 days.

Yanga, as they are commonly referred to, have won all their seven matches this season and are second in the standings with 21 points, one behind leaders Singida, who have played a match more. The two will take on each other in a top-of-the-table clash in Zanzibar.

Gamondi said, speaking to Telecomasia.net ahead of the game:

This is indeed very tough for us because we have played a lot of matches within a short period of time. We are playing a game every three days and also traveling, so this is not easy. We need to use everyone in the squad, and this is now a challenge that all players have to be ready to play. We have to rotate the squad with a lot of keenness to ensure we have a fresh team playing, and also we don’t distort our game plan.

Miguel Gamondi

Singida, coached by former Simba SC coach Belgian Patrick Aussems, will be another tough challenge for Yanga, who have been in flying form. They have not conceded a single goal in the league this season and have scored 12.
