Barcelona's head coach Xavi Hernandez has taken the first place in the ranking of the best players in the history of Spanish soccer according to the British publication FourFourTwo.
Xavi, 43, took first place. Former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is in second place. Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas rounded out the top three. David Villa and Sergio Ramos are also in the top 5 of the ranking.
The midfielder has played 925 matches during his playing career, in which he scored 111 goals and gave 212 goal assists, winning 25 trophies, including eight La Liga titles, three Spanish Cups and four UEFA Champions League. As a member of the Spanish national team, Xavi became a two-time European champion (2008, 2012) and world champion (2010), as well as Olympic silver medalist (2000).
Earlier, Xavi played his 100th game as Barcelona's coach, and Catalans president Joan Laporta said the Blaugrana management has confidence in the Spanish coach.
