Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso has spoken out about his future at the club after the end of the current season.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano quotes the specialist as saying on his social networks:
My job at Bayer is not over. I want to help the club, help the players to develop, the board is great… It's all fantastic here.I’m still a young coach but I think this is the best decision for my future. I took my time and I’m sure about that.
Bayer is in first place in the current season after 26 rounds of the German championship with 70 points.
Note that Romano has already reported that Alonso decided to stay in the team for one more season.
Earlier it became known that because of the Spaniard's decision to continue his career at Bayer, Liverpool refused to negotiate with him on the issue of a possible appointment and switched to alternative candidates.
