Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior, who plays for Real Madrid and the national team, has reportedly insulted the referee during a World Cup 2026 qualifying match against Venezuela.
According to media reports, an early error by the referee, who failed to call a foul in favor of Brazil, prevented the team from launching a counterattack. Following this incident, Vinicius expressed his frustration with the referee's decision, using vulgar language.
Footage from the broadcast captured the moment when the forward directed profanities at the referee in Portuguese. In the 62nd minute of the match, Vinicius missed a penalty kick. The match ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.
Notably, Vinicius has recorded 12 goals and seven assists over 17 appearances across various tournaments in the 2024/25 season.
Earlier, Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri commented on a video where he can be heard saying "Goodbye, Vinicius" while celebrating the win of the Ballon d'Or.
